Welcome to Meshuggah Demo and Effect browser! This program is the result of my final research project at Ilmenau Technical University, Germany. It is meant to illustrate the use of vertex and pixel shader technology introduced in DirectX 8 to efficiently render advanced effects and 3D scenes.
What's in the package?
A multimedia demonstration of all the effects - that is, a demo. Those of you familiar with the demo scene know exactly what I mean! For the rest of you... picture video sequence of computer animations synchronized to music only that all this is calculated at the time you're watching it.
An interactive effect browser allowing you to play with each effect by tweaking its parameters.
A documentation describing the guts of each effect including details about the used techniques and shaders. If you would like to have a look at the documentation without downloading the executable click here. |
The system requirements are as follows:
Pentium III / AMD Athlon class CPU with at least 800 MHz (or better)
A graphic controller supporting vertex and pixel shaders (e.g. GeForce3, Radeon8500)
Win98, Win ME, Win2k, Win XP (the later two are preferred as they were used during development) with DirectX 8.1 runtime installed
For those of you who don't have a graphic controller supporting vertex and pixel shaders there are three videos of the demo available for download.
Here are a couple of screenshots taken from each effect to give you an idea what you can expect to see. But I really recommend you download the demo/video to see all effects in motion.

You've finally reached the place where you can leech the data. Well, here it is...
